If you want a versatile, universal sensor plug for exhaust tuning across multiple vehicle types including motorcycles and ATVs, choose Alrhso 2; if you need a heavy-duty, magnet-equipped oil drain plug specifically engineered for Ford and Lincoln engines to trap metal debris, choose VKQTS M12-1.75. These two products serve fundamentally different mechanical roles, and picking the wrong one will not just fail to solve your problem—it could lead to engine damage or a complete inability to perform the repair. I have analyzed the specifications of both items to help you decide which tool belongs in your toolbox for DIY repairs this year.
• Alrhso 2: Its greatest strength is universal adaptability with smooth threads and an O-ring seal designed for oxygen sensors on cars, bikes, and off-road vehicles; its trade-off is that it lacks magnetic properties and is not intended for draining oil pans.
• VKQTS M12-1.75: It excels with a powerful magnetic tip made of carbon steel to capture engine metal shavings and features a specific T45/Torx head design for secure installation on Ford/Lincoln models; its trade-off is limited compatibility strictly to M12-1.75 threaded oil pans.
• Who is each pick for? The Alrhso 2 is for the generalist who needs to silence check-engine lights or tune exhaust systems across various platforms, while the VKQTS M12-1.75 is for the dedicated DIY mechanic maintaining Ford-based powertrains who wants to extend engine life by filtering metal particles.
The Alrhso 2 is built for a very specific niche within the automotive world: managing oxygen sensor ports. If your goal involves fine-tuning an exhaust system or dealing with a malfunctioning check engine light caused by a missing or broken sensor plug, this is the part you need. The product sheet highlights a design focused on precision fitment, featuring smooth surfaces and clean threads that ensure a secure, leak-proof installation. This isn't just about plugging a hole; it is about ensuring the component does not loosen over time, which is critical when dealing with the heat and vibration of an exhaust system.
What makes this unit stand out is its material composition and versatility. Constructed from stainless steel and copper, it offers resistance against rust and corrosion, which is essential for components exposed to the elements and high temperatures. The inclusion of copper O-rings adds an extra layer of sealing reliability, helping to reduce engine malfunction issues that might otherwise plague a vehicle with a faulty sensor reading. You get two hexagonal socket plugs and matching rings, providing everything necessary for a straightforward replacement without hunting for extra parts.
This product is ideal for the DIY enthusiast who works on a variety of machines. Whether you are restoring a classic car, working on a modern motorcycle, or maintaining an ATV or UTV, the Alrhso 2 adapts seamlessly. The hexagonal socket design allows for quick disassembly and reinstallation without requiring specialized tools, making it accessible for anyone with a basic wrench set. However, if you are looking for an oil drain plug or a component with magnetic capabilities, this is not the right choice. It is purely an adapter and sensor plug solution, and trying to use it for oil drainage would be a mistake given its lack of magnetic properties and different structural intent.

The VKQTS M12-1.75 is a purpose-built tool for owners of specific Ford and Lincoln vehicles. It is compatible with a wide range of models spanning from the MKT and MKX to the Navigator and Corsair, covering production years roughly between 2013 and 2024.
The standout feature here is the magnetic end. As the engine runs, it naturally produces tiny metal chips that circulate through the oil. The VKQTS plug actively adsorbs these particles, keeping the oil cleaner for longer and potentially prolonging the life of the engine. This is a proactive maintenance feature that goes beyond simple containment. The body of the plug is made from carbon steel, a material chosen for its superior strength and moderate toughness. This ensures the threads do not wear out easily during repeated removals and installations, a common failure point with softer metals or poorly machined threads.
You also receive gaskets in the package to fill tiny gaps on contact surfaces, guaranteeing a solid seal that prevents leaks. The packaging includes two sets, offering value for those doing routine maintenance on multiple vehicles or simply wanting a spare. This product is strictly for oil pan applications. It is not an oxygen sensor adapter and cannot be used to silence check engine lights related to exhaust sensors. If you do not own a compatible Ford or Lincoln model, or if your oil pan requires a different thread pitch, this plug will not fit. It is a specialized, high-strength solution for a specific demographic of drivers who prioritize engine cleanliness and durability during oil changes.
• Best for Universal Sensor Tuning → Alrhso 2: If you need to address oxygen sensor issues across cars, bikes, and ATVs, the Alrhso 2's universal design and copper O-rings make it the only logical choice.
• Best for Engine Longevity via Filtration → VKQTS M12-1.75: Only the VKQTS plug has the magnetic tip required to trap metal shavings and keep oil clean, a feature absent in the Alrhso 2.
• Best for Ford/Lincoln Oil Changes → VKQTS M12-1.75: With its specific M12-1.75 thread and T45 head, this is the correct replacement for Lincoln and Ford oil pans, whereas the Alrhso 2 uses M18x1.5 threads.
• Best for Simple Tool-Free Installation → Alrhso 2: Both are easy to install, but the Alrhso 2 relies on a standard hexagonal socket that is universally understood, while the VKQTS requires a specific T45 Torx driver.
• Best for Corrosion Resistance in Exhaust → Alrhso 2: The stainless steel and copper construction of the Alrhso 2 is optimized for the harsh environment of an exhaust system.
• Best for Heavy-Duty Thread Durability → VKQTS M12-1.75: The carbon steel construction of the VKQTS plug is rated for the high torque and repeated stress of oil pan service.
• Best Value for Multi-Vehicle Owners → Alrhso 2: If you own a mix of vehicles (motorcycle, car, ATV), the Alrhso 2 covers more ground than the single-brand VKQTS option.
• Best for Specific Model Compatibility → VKQTS M12-1.75: If you drive a 2017-2020 Continental or a 2015-2023 Navigator, the VKQTS plug is the exact OEM replacement needed.
When I weigh the practical needs of a DIYer facing a specific mechanical issue, the choice becomes clear based on the task at hand. If I am tackling a generic exhaust tuning job or silencing a check engine light on a mixed fleet of vehicles, I would buy the Alrhso 2 immediately because of its universal M18x1.5 thread and corrosion-resistant materials. However, if I am performing routine maintenance on my Ford or Lincoln truck and want to ensure the oil stays free of metal debris, there is no contest: I am choosing the VKQTS M12-1.75. Its magnetic capability and carbon steel durability make it the superior tool for DIY repairs involving oil drainage on compatible vehicles. You must match the spec to the job; using the wrong one renders the repair impossible.
No. The Alrhso 2 is an oxygen sensor plug designed for M18x1.5 threads and exhaust systems. It lacks the magnetic tip and structural strength required for oil pans, and using it for drainage could cause leaks or engine damage.
Not necessarily. While the thread size is M12-1.75, the VKQTS plug specifically requires a T45 Torx head and is listed for Ford and Lincoln models. Other brands may use different head types or thread pitches even if the diameter looks similar.
The Alrhso 2 comes with copper O-rings for sealing oxygen sensor ports to prevent leaks in the exhaust system. The VKQTS M12-1.75 includes rubber gaskets designed to seal the flat surface of an oil pan. Do not substitute one for the other as they serve different sealing mechanisms.
Both are built for durability but for different environments. The Alrhso 2 uses stainless steel and copper to resist exhaust heat and corrosion, while the VKQTS M12-1.75 uses carbon steel for high tensile strength and resistance to thread wear during frequent oil changes.
