Alorro beachfront was one of the properties purchased from the Kaputian people in the 1950s by the late Diosdado C. Alorro, Sr. and Restituta A. Alorro. When the Japanese invaded the Philippines, the couple was forced to evacuate their second home in Banaybanay, a municipality in Davao Oriental, and arrived by boat on the shores of Kaputian, Samal. In 2000, the couple's successors began building the Alorro beachfront, which they later opened to the public. In the early 2000s, however, tourism in Samal was not fully developed, causing the resort to have minimal to zero revenue. The couple's youngest child, Cheril Alorro, leased and developed the property in 2015, formally naming the place Alorro Beach Resort. The couple's successors, a total of nine (9) siblings, then decided to operate the resort as a family business after the leasing contract of Cheril expired by the end of 2021. Immediately, the family scheduled a two-week refurbishment in early January of 2022 to improve the amenities, install more cabanas and clear the space along the beachfront to accommodate more guests who wish to enjoy the view and relax on the beach. By January 14, 2022, the resort reopened as Alorro Crystal Beach Resort, under new management led by the siblings. Alorro Crystal Beach Resort continues to develop its entire amenities to accommodate more guests, in tandem with the progressive tourism in the Island Garden City of Samal. Relative to the increased awareness and increasing demand, the resort's administration encountered challenges along with its operation. This includes regular power outages caused by the resort's 5-kilometer distance from the main road which disrupts communication when servicing visitors, low signal reception/internet connection, and the resort's road accessibility. The resort's ingress/egress is via a 5-meter-wide earth-paved barangay road that connects to the public access.
