DH Studio built the Counting Lonely Days app as a free
application. This SERVICE is provided at no cost and is intended for use as is.
This page informs visitors of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of
information for anyone who uses this app. Counting Lonely Days is designed to work offline:
what you write stays on your device. If you choose to use our Service, you agree to the
collection and use of information described in this policy.
1. Information Collection and Use
We do not ask you to create an account, sign in, or give us your name, email address, or
phone number. The app does not have a backend server that stores your content.
Information that stays only on your device:
- The start date of your count and the day count derived from it.
- Journal entries: your written reflections, feeling tags, mood notes, and dates.
- Photos you attach to a journal entry — chosen from your device's photo picker or taken
with your device's camera app. They are copied into the app's private storage folder and
are never uploaded to us.
- App settings: language and your App Lock PIN if you enable it.
All of the above is written to the app's private storage area on your device. We have no
access to it, and it is not transmitted to any server we control.
Information collected automatically by third-party services:
The app uses third-party services that may collect limited technical information used to
identify you as a device rather than as a person:
- Device model, operating system version, screen and language/region settings.
- App version and general usage events, such as which screen was opened and whether an ad
was displayed.
- Crash reports, including the error and the stack trace at the moment of the crash.
- Your IP address and your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or
Apple IDFA), used for analytics and for serving advertisements.
We do NOT send the text of your journal entries, your photos, your feeling tags, your
day count, or your App Lock PIN to any analytics or advertising service.
**Permissions.** On Android the app declares only the Internet permission. Photos are
provided by the system photo picker and the camera is opened through the system camera app,
so the app itself never requests access to your gallery or camera. On iOS, the system asks
for photo library and camera permission the first time you attach a photo; declining it only
means you cannot attach photos.
2. Third Party Access
The app uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:
- [Google Play Services](https://policies.google.com/privacy)
- [Google AdMob](https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543) — serves the banner and
full-screen ads inside the app
- [Firebase Analytics](https://firebase.google.com/policies/analytics) — anonymous usage
statistics
- [Firebase Crashlytics](https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) — crash reporting
- [Firebase Remote Config](https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy) — lets us turn
features and advertising on or off without shipping an update
We may disclose information collected in this way when we are required to do so by law, when
we must comply with a legal process such as a court order or subpoena, or when we believe in
good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the
safety of others, or investigate fraud.
3. Opt-Out Rights
You can stop all collection of information by uninstalling the app, using the standard
uninstall process available on your device or through the app marketplace.
You can also limit advertising personalisation without uninstalling: on Android, open
Settings → Google → Ads and reset or delete your advertising ID; on iOS, open Settings →
Privacy & Security → Tracking. Ads may still be shown, but they will be less personalised.
4. Data Retention Policy
Your journal entries, photos, and settings are kept on your device for as long as you keep
them. You can edit or delete any entry at any time from within the app, and deleting an
entry also removes the photos attached to it. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data
from your device's system settings, removes everything.
We do not retain your personal content, because we never receive it. Technical and analytics
data collected by the third-party services above is retained according to their own
retention policies.
5. Children
This app is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian
and you learn that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us
so that we can take the necessary action.
6. Security
We take your trust seriously. Because your journal is stored only on your device and not on
any server we operate, there is no central database of user content to be breached. The app
also offers an optional 4-digit App Lock that must be entered before the journal can be
opened.
Please note that the App Lock is a convenience feature intended to stop casual access; it is
not full-disk encryption and it does not protect your data from someone with physical or
technical access to an unlocked device. Keeping your device itself protected with a screen
lock is the strongest safeguard for your entries. No method of electronic storage is 100%
secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Links to Other Sites
The app may contain links to other sites and may display advertisements that lead to
third-party websites or stores. If you tap such a link or ad, you will be taken to a site we
do not operate. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy of those sites. We have
no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or
practices of any third-party sites or services.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. You are advised to review this page
periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy
Policy on this page. Changes are effective immediately after they are posted.
9. Your Consent
By using the app, you consent to the processing of your information as set out in this
Privacy Policy, now and as amended by us.
10. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or you want to ask about the data this
app handles, do not hesitate to contact us.
