I am Jahangir Alom from Bangladesh, which is a rapidly developing territory. In July 2022, I obtained my degree from the Department of Applied Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, under the faculty of engineering, at the University of Rajshahi, a renowned and oldest public university in Bangladesh. At the present moment, I am an MS student with the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Scholarship, funded by European Union. My postgraduate program is focused on Membrane Engineering for Sustainable Development, where I am focused on Membrane materials. As a student in Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, I acquired the knowledge to explore the world of chemistry, even in challenging situations with limited opportunities. This interest in learning about the unknown and witnessing the unseen has always inspired me to seize every opportunity I gained as an undergraduate.
Previously, I had worked with different teams in my country and overseas, published few number of articles, review article and book chapters. My up-to-date research interests are porous materials such as Metal Organic Framework (MOF), Covalent Organic Framework (COF), Mixed Matrix Membrane (MMMs), Interfacial Polymerization, Nano Filtration (NF), Desalination, Reverse Osmosis (RO), Surface chemistry, Gas Separation, and Ion Separation, etc. I have completed my first year masters project related to COF based MMMs for gas separation with “Membranes and Catalysis with Nanostructured Materials” (MECANOS) Group at Instituto de Nanociencia y Materiales de Aragón (INMA), Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain. In the summer vacation I have worked on another project related to interfacial polymerization to make an ion-selective thin film membrane with Materials Chemistry & Mass Transport, Institute of Membrane Research group at Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon, Germany. Currently I am working with the group of Twente membranes at University of Twente, Netherland.
However, stay engaged in exploring this website to learn more about me, my ideas, my research experiences, and my most recent endeavors. I’m happy to have you here!
