Jen and the amazing team at Aloha International Employment are simply the best. We have been working hand in hand with Aloha International Employment for 4 years now and it has been the best decision, we as a company, have made. They not only help us with hiring new employees, handling weekly payroll, and providing us with the best priced health insurance policies for our employees, they also go out of their way to keep us informed on any new and important labor laws that directly apply to our company. We have had multiple situations come up with employees and the first people we call is Aloha International, they are reliable, accessible, supportive and transparent. They are everything you need when you have a situation that needs to be handled, or when COVID-19 hits. When it was time to apply for the PPP loan, Aloha International Employment was more than helpful in providing up-to-date information on the loan application and providing us with all the paperwork needed. Once the loan was received, they made the payroll process easy and sent payroll summaries weekly to help us keep everything in order. They were a support team like no other, and during a time of high stress and lots of uncertainty, they kept us at ease. We cannot recommend them enough!

Three weeks after the devastation of Lahaina, we are still working to recover and to strengthen our defenses against future weather-driven emergencies, including windstorms and wildfires. The safety of Maui residents, businesses and visitors is the top priority of our government agencies and our dedicated state and county teams, supported by many partners in our community, including Hawaiian Electric.

Hawaiian Electric crews made significant progress in the past 24 hours, restoring power to nearly all customers in the West Maui area today and working to bring electricity back to a remaining pocket in the Upcountry area.

Crews are working to build new distribution lines from the mobile substation to complete restoration to customers in the Launiupoko to Olowalu area.

Installation of the second mobile substation in the Lahaina area has also been completed, and crews will be working to build new distribution lines from that mobile substation to complete restoration to customers in the Launiupoko to Olowalu area. In Upcountry, crews are working to restore remaining pockets of customers and additional supplies for repair work are expected to arrive this week.

In coordination with state and county response efforts on Maui, Hawaiian Electric crews are working to restore a critical circuit in West Maui that serves essential services, such as grocery stores and pharmacies, along with a county wastewater pumping facility in the Lahaina area.

In West Maui, crews are also working to restore a second critical circuit in Lahaina that serves additional businesses that provide essential services in the upcoming week.
