These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Allura mobile application ("Allura," "the App," "we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Allura. If you are between 13 and 18, you may only use Allura under the supervision of a parent or guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. To purchase a subscription, you must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent.
By using Allura, you represent that you meet these age requirements and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
Allura is an AI-powered beauty coaching application that uses your device's camera to analyze your appearance and provide personalized makeup feedback, color analysis, virtual try-on previews, and beauty technique guides. Features include:
Smart Makeup Scan: AI analysis with scores and personalized fixes
Bare-Face Profile: Skin tone, undertone, face shape, and lip shape analysis
Color Analysis: Seasonal color palette recommendations
Look Match: AI-generated tutorials based on inspiration photos
Try-On: Virtual makeup overlays
Progress Tracking: Streaks, scores, and weekly summaries
Allura is an entertainment and self-improvement tool. It is not a medical, dermatological, or cosmetic-professional service.
Allura does not currently require a user account. Your data is stored locally on your device and processed by our service providers (see Privacy Policy). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any data stored on it.
Allura offers in-app subscriptions ("Allura Premium") that unlock additional features:
Monthly: $9.99 per month
Annual: $49.99 per year
Free trial: Eligible users may receive a 3-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically begin and you will be charged the applicable rate.
Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly, as selected) at the then-current price. Renewal is charged to your Apple ID account within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings (Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions). Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain Premium access until then. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.
Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple under their terms. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.
Price changes: We may change subscription prices. You will be notified before any price increase takes effect and have the opportunity to cancel before the new price applies.
When you use Allura's scanning features, your device's camera captures photos of your face ("User Content"). By using Allura, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process User Content solely for the purpose of providing the App's features (e.g., sending images to our AI service provider for analysis).
Important:
Photos are processed in real-time and not retained on our servers long-term.
Photos are stored locally on your device only.
We do not use User Content to train AI models, advertise to you, or share with third parties for marketing.

You represent that you own or have the right to use any User Content you submit, and that submission does not violate any third party's rights.
Allura uses third-party AI services (including Google's Gemini API) to generate beauty feedback, scores, and recommendations. AI-generated content has inherent limitations:
AI feedback is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, biased, or inconsistent.
Beauty assessments are subjective and reflect the AI model's training, not objective standards.
Color analysis, face shape detection, and other classifications are approximations.
AI-generated tutorials and look recreations are creative interpretations, not professional makeup instruction.
Do not rely on AI feedback as professional advice. Always consult a licensed dermatologist, makeup artist, or other qualified professional for medical or beauty concerns.
You agree NOT to:
Use Allura for any illegal purpose
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
Bypass, disable, or interfere with security or rate-limiting features
Submit photos of anyone other than yourself without their explicit consent
Submit photos of minors (under 13) without verifiable parental consent
Submit non-consensual, sexually explicit, or otherwise inappropriate content
Use automated systems (bots, scripts) to interact with the App
Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App or its content
Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity
Upload viruses, malware, or harmful code
Violation may result in termination of access without refund.
The App, including its design, code, branding, AI prompts, content, and trademarks, is owned by Allura and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may share screenshots of your scan results on social media for personal use. The Allura name and logo may be referenced in such posts but may not be used to imply endorsement.
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it carefully.
Allura is not a medical service or a substitute for professional advice. The App does not diagnose, treat, or cure any skin condition, medical issue, or appearance concern.
If you have a skin condition, consult a licensed dermatologist.
For makeup techniques, consult a licensed makeup artist or aesthetician.
For mental health concerns related to body image, consult a licensed mental health professional.
Do not rely on Allura for any health-related decision. We expressly disclaim any liability for outcomes resulting from following AI-generated suggestions.
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy of AI-generated content.
We do not warrant that:
The App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
AI scans will be accurate or consistent
Results will meet your expectations
Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusion of certain warranties; in those jurisdictions, the above exclusions apply to the maximum extent permitted by law.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL Allura, ITS AFFILIATES, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR:
Indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages
Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business
Damages arising from your reliance on AI-generated content
Damages arising from inaccurate beauty assessments or recommendations
Our total liability to you for all claims related to the App in any twelve-month period shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us during that period, or (b) $50 USD.
Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless c9 or Allura its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
Your violation of these Terms
Your User Content (including photos of others without consent)
Your violation of any third party's rights
Your violation of any applicable law
We may modify the App, add or remove features, or change subscription pricing at any time. We may update these Terms; if we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to changes, your only remedy is to stop using the App and cancel any subscription.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination:
Your right to use the App ends immediately
We may delete your locally stored data (this is mostly device-side)
Sections that by their nature should survive (e.g., limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) shall survive
You may stop using the App at any time. Uninstalling the App does not cancel an active subscription — you must cancel through Apple settings.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Arizona under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations.
Class action waiver: You agree to resolve disputes on an individual basis and waive any right to participate in class actions, class arbitrations, or representative actions.
Allura is distributed via the Apple App Store. The following provisions apply:
These Terms are between you and c9 or Allura — not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
In the event of any failure to conform to applicable warranties, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the App's purchase price (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation.
You and Apple acknowledge that Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.
Severability: If any provision is found invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
No waiver: Failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
Assignment: You may not assign these Terms. We may assign these Terms to a successor.
**Fair Use Limits:** While Allura Premium is described as offering "unlimited"
scans and features, reasonable fair-use limits apply to prevent abuse, protect
service availability, and manage AI infrastructure costs. Currently:
• Makeup scans: up to 75 per 24-hour period
• Look Match generations: up to 75 per 24-hour period
• Color Analysis: no daily cap (one-time setup feature)
• Try-On previews: no daily cap
These limits are generous for normal use — typical Premium users perform
a handful of scans per day. The caps exist to prevent automated abuse
and excessive API costs. We may adjust these limits in the future based
on usage patterns and will notify users of material changes via in-app
notice. If you hit a fair-use limit, your access resets at midnight
local time.
