Event Planning
Yule Ball
With a starting budget of only $100 for decor & food, this charity fundraiser dinner was able to raise $1,294.57 to the Alzheimers Association. As a lead on this project, I was in charge of advertisement, decor, and kept track of all budgeting.
Paint Nights
As a visual artist, I am occasionally asked to plan and teach Paint Nights for groups, where proceeds go to charity. As a teacher, I enjoy selecting and teaching people beginner friendly techniques that push their talents past what they may have previously thought possible. As a planner for these events, I am always sure to select budget & beginner friendly supplies, and have purchased reusable supplies as an investment for future events.
Group Trips
A fun trip to a theatre in Baltimore took some advanced planning, as tickets normally sell out! After a quick poll between two shows, and a sign-up period, we were able to coordinate the purchase of tickets for girls, adults, and friends! A fun carpooling time was had by all!
Installation of Officers (july 2024)
Without a Worthy Advsior to plan this term, it was planned by committe. With my event planning experience and love for all things graphic design & decor, I was a main driving force in the planning of a Muppet-themed Installation of Officers. As a member of this committe, I was the one who created the event flyer, event program, as well as a co-decorator! I also created the event's agenda, including new moments more appropriate for a term planned by a team rather than one individual! I planned the music, the order of events, and even helped to inform the girls participating how the day would go. These evnts often requre attire specifications, advanced timelines, and coordnation for food afterwards!
Installation of Officers (July 2021)
My sister, Eliza, was unfortunetly going to be without wifi or any way to contact her for three weeks prior to her installation as Worthy Advisor, and she would be arriving back in town the morning of. So like the great big sister I am, I assisted in finishing out the final stage of planning for this event. While she spent the weeks prior planning, I spent the last stretch compiling her notes and plans into their final forms to have everything ready for Installation Day. This included her agenda/script, her installation fliers and advertisement, as well as making announcements on her behalf and sharing information. The day was a huge sucess and the assembly had a great Installation!
Field Day Games & Activities
As the person with the access to all the term information, I also planned the fun event after the Installation! Since the theme was Survivor, what better way than to enjoy a field day with challenges inspired by the TV Show! Assembly members were split into 3 tribes, and guests came together to form a fourth tribe, then everyone competed in a rotation of challenges against other tribes, all to gather the most points and win the day!
Virtual Mother's Day Ceremony
Amidst COVID-19, I was responsible for planning a State-Wide Mother's Day Tea. Due to the pandemic this became a virtual event. While the ceremony involves both spoken words and movement around a room, a virtual version could only have the speaking parts.
So while participants were on Zoom, to supplement the physical actions normally displayed, I collected altered Snoopy images, that fit within the state-level theme of the Peanuts cartoons!
