Exporting from Revit to Sketchup
Open your Revit file using the instructions found
here
Click the "
R
" in the top left hand corner of your screen
R > Export > CAD Formats >
DWG
Set dialog boxes to the following and select the "
3D View : {3D}
"
------>
Open SketchUp 2017
File > Import > Select your file
The model will come in, use the layers to organize and delete thing as necessary
This is not a flawless conversion, topo and grouping may be a little weird
I think this is most useful for material studies and adding complex detail to interior spaces for rendering
More information on each of these dialog boxes can be found
here
