I realize that design fees (architecture in particular) seem to add up quickly. In general, we are always trying to keep our fees down to help our projects be successful, although it is important to understand that design and permitting is typically not a linear process. 'Iterating' and exploring different options is a very important (and on-going) step in our analysis, ensuring that we understand the parameters and consequences of each decision. It can seem like a circuitous process, although it is important to keep in mind that the investment in the thinking and drawing during the design phase is so much less costly than making big mistakes while in construction. So we like to think of our service as a type of insurance that your money, during construction, is well spent. =)
