00 Inclement Weather: Snow days, when members officially close the office

00 Allied8 Startup : Not using this anymore - this was only used in the first year of business

00 Bookkeeping: Time spent in Quick books, CPA, book keeper

00 Business Development : Could it someday result in work from a specific source or sector? Meetings/calls with industry peers, first calls of potential clients that don't develop, (distant potential clients like Dana Behar), attending networking events, researching and preparing responses to RFPs

00 Community Outreach: Is it contributing our time to the “larger discussion” non-specific to a client project? Preparing or giving presentations outside the office; blog posts; drafting articles; researching or preparing for competition entries

00 Continuing Education / Software training

00 Forecasting: Workload doc & Forecast

00 Friends & Family time: Work that doesn't get billed to client

00 General Overhead (Use Sparingly!): When it doesn't fit anywhere else. Add very thorough notes to these time entries so we can determine if new tasks need to be added.

00 Human Resources: hiring, employee reviews, insurance, onboarding

00 Invoicing: Time invoicing

00 Marketing: Is it getting our name out in a specific medium or related to a client project? website, printed material, taking photos of projects, holiday cards, sponsorship's, preparing submittals for publications in books or magazines (i.e. Dwell, award submissions)

00 Mentoring: time spent bringing an employee up to speed on a concept that is not directly related to a project

00 Pro Bono Design: time we're giving away on a project that anticipates no fees at all

00 Staff Management & Meetings: non-project related internal meetings

00 Strategic Management: Miles Ford Meetings, internal meeting about company direction
