For the first half of the first semester, our discussion in the subject Empowerment Technologies begun with the introduction of The Dangers of Oversharing the Internet. Throughout our discussion, I’ve learned the rules in using social media and also, the ways that could help us use the social media. For me, this lesson is a must-teach because it will help us be aware of the threats and disadvantages of social media and knowing these will prevent is from encountering troubles while we are in social media ; it will keep us safe and will enable us to use social media in our own advantages. Furthermore, it will not be only ourselves that we would be able to keep safe but also the people around because our knowledge regarding these threats will prevent us from giving threats to others. We were also taught about the web browsers, the different search engines, and the different types of web namely web 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. Their differences were also explained to us—in web 1.0, the users can only read ; in web 2.0, users can now read and write meanwhile, in web 3.0, users can read, write, and at the same time, the websites collects the users data. Examples of these were also given. This lesson educated us on the different functions which enabled us to know the proper use of these. Another lesson we tackled was all about ICT—how can we classify a gadget as an ICT and examples of ICT. I learned that a gadget is an ICT if we can locate, serve, send, and edit info through it and a computer is an example of it. An additional topic on this is the importance and function of hashtag and the reason why we use hashtags. Also, the problems of the different types of web and the trends in ICT. Another important lesson in this module was the creation of a g-mail account and how we can use this account to access all of the other features of Google. We did not just discuss how to use the Google Drive, Google Slide, and Google Docs but we also had a first-hand experience of these. We determined their difference with that of the others that can be accessed offline. We also made our own website in which we will upload and publish our outputs. Our last topic was about mail-merge. We learned the importance and use of mail-merge in which it can be used to provide multiple letters of a single letter that will be sent to numerous subjects. We also learned how to do mail-merge and made an output regarding mail-merging. I have learned a lot and I know these topics will be a lot of help to us in using modern technologies and coping up with the fast-moderning environment today and in the future.

THERE ARE MANY WAYS IN GETTING INFORMATION THAT WILL HELP YOU TO UNDERSTAND AND GO FURTHER EXPLANATION THAT WILL LEAD YOU TO THE CALRIFICATION OF USING TECHNOLOGY. THE EMPOWERMENT SUBJECT THOUGHT ME HOW TO DEAL WELL WITH NEW OR DIFFICULT SITUATIONS AND TO FIND SOLUTIONS TO EITHER SIMPLE OR COMPLEX PROBLEMS. IN SHORT I WILL BE ABLE TO BECOME A RESOURCEFUL PERSON. WHEN I FIRST ENCOUNTERED THIS SUBJECT I KNOW THAT IT WILL BE A BIT DIFFICULT FOR ME TO CATCH UP WITH THE LESSONS BECAUSE I KNOW TO MYSELF THAT I AM NOT REALLY GOOD WHENT IT COMES TO TECHNOLOGY BUT I AM REALLY HAPPY FROM THE BEGINNING AND UNTIL NOW BECAUSE I GAINED SOME INFORMATION THAT I MIGHT PROBABLY USE IN THE FUTURE ESPECIALLY THAT OUR SOCIETY IS NOW LIVING WITH TECHNOLOGY . IT IS REALLY IMPORTANT TO STUDY ABOUT THE TECHNOLOGY BECAUSE IT MAKES OUR WORK FASTER, EASIER AND IS USEFUL IN OUR DAILY LIVES , ALSO IT CONTRIBUTES TO THE LEARNINGS THAT WE CAN APPLY IN OURSELVES. IN ALL THE TOPIC THAT WAS DISCUSSED TO US, THERE IS ONE THAT REALLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION IT MADE ME REALIZE THAT THIS SUBJECT IS NOT REALLY HARD ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TO JUST LISTEN, READ AND UNDERSTAND , IT IS DIFFICULT TO MASTER SOME OF THE LESSONS BUT IF YOU JUST GIVE SOME EFFORT FOR THIS SUBJECT, YOU WILL GAIN A LOT OF KNOWLEDGE THAT WILL REALLY MAKES YOU FEEL THAT THIS SUBJECT IS REALLY FUN AND ENJOYABLE . THE TOPIC THAT REALLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION IS ALL ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WEB 1.0, WEB 2.0 AND WEB 3.0.IN THIS TOPIC I LEARNED THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THIS THREE WEB THAT WEB 1.0 IS SIMPLY AN INFORMATION PORTAL WHERE USERS PASSIVELY RECEIVE INFORMATION WITHOUT BEING GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO POST REVIEWS,COMMENTS, AND FEEDBACK ,SHARE.WHILE, THE WEB 2.0’S ARE THE INTERACTIVE DATA WRITABLE PLATFORM WHERE THERE’S A FACILITY FOR THE WEBSITES TO INTERACT WITH THEIR USERS OR CLIENTS.WHILE,THE WEB 3.0 IS AN EXECUTABLE PHRASE OF WWW WITH DYNAMIC APPLICATIONS,INTERAC­TIVE SERVICES AND MACHINE INTERACTION LANGUAGES. . WHEN OUR TEACHER GAVE US AN ACTIVITY ABOUT THIS TOPIC I WAS REALLY OVERWHELMED BECAUSE I KNOW TO MYSELF THAT I HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THE TOPIC AND I THINK IT WILL NOT BE DIFFICULT FOR ME TO ACCOMPLISH THE TASK BECAUSE I AM WITH MY CLEARHEADED GROUP MATES.

I've learned in our previous discussion that we should always remember the golden rule in posting in social media. like we should post smart, keep our password private, don't brag, etc. Also, in types of web, web 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. As i understand web 1.0 allows us to receive information. However, one cannot add more to the information nor change it in any way possible. Web 2.0 improves on web 1.0 by having interactive features. In addition to receiving information only in web 1.0 we can now connect with people, friends, etc. Through social networking sites such as email, blog, tweets, facebook, etc. Keeping in touch and staying connected with others is faster and easier than before. Collaboration between people is instantaneous in posting thoughts and leaving comments. Web 2.0 allows people not only to receive information but to connect and converse while web 3.0 will most likely to be a connection with information and will have a profile of the user's browsing history. Lastly, about the six elements of design. We have contrast, repetition, alignment, proximity, hierarchy, and balance. Contrast add visual interest. Repetition repeats some aspect of the design throughout the entire piece. Alignment nothing should be placed on the page arbitrarily (randomly). Proximity creates one visual unit rather than several separate units. Hierarchy using larger or bolder fonts to highlight the title. Balance lends stability and structure to an overall design.
