The works on this page consists of various class assignments I completed while attending college. I took various graphic design and photoshop classes. I used a variety of programs to make these, but mostly Adobe Illustrate, Adobe Indesign, and Photoshop. I hope to be able to work in these programs again, because I enjoyed them greatly.

create an invitation for an oscars themed party. Can have any amount of folds and have any theme, but must be about the Oscars
My overall theme for my card was Oscars animation winners/nominees. I wanted the card to be fun and playful and encapsulate the vibe of creativity.
For the design of the outside (purple side): I wanted the card to look like the building that the Oscars would be hosted in with the nominees arriving to view the awards show. The card, when folded would have the card give the illusion that you are opening the front doors of the building and entering.
For the design of the inside (yellow side): the silhouettes of the Oscar animation winners line the sides and help to frame the information for the party in the middle.
Re-design a logo for a local business, ensure it fits with the brand identity of the business.
Original Logo (top): Not a bad concept overall, but my main reason for picking it is that it was hard to read from a distance due to the lettering
Concepts: Once I picked a direction to take the logo I played a bit with the formatting and colors, eventually settling on a color palette that matched the interior colors of the restaurant (red and gold)
Final: Added a gold shine gradient and a drop shadow to make it more legible on the red background and fused the sub-header concepts from the top and bottom design. A bit of a standard design, but it works with the brand identity already established.
Re-design a book cover of your choosing. Print it out and fit it onto the original book as a replacement cover.
For this assignment I chose the book IT by Stephen King. The original cover is good, but not quite memorable enough. There were some versions of the cover that sought to rectify this, but I though it would be interesting to take the cover into a more retro direction.
Re-design Illustration:
for the retro direction, I wanted the cover to be an illustration. I based it loosely on old horror comics, but mostly used my own style to create it.
I wanted the book to be a hint to what was going to happen without being a complete spoiler and have striking colors to draw the eye.
I also ensured that the layout and flow of the illustration would lead the viewers eye around, and draw you to flip the book over.
Finalizing and printing:
For my text I used a scratchy horror font (Flood ink pen and Primal Scream) and formatted it using Adobe InDesign.
I removed two of the quotes on the back for clarity, and to show off more of the illustration
Overall I am extremely happy with how the final came out
LinkedIn Ad:
For this AD, I did not have to do too much as the illustration really speaks for itself
I mostly just flipped the illustration orientation and darkened it to improve legibility. I also created a catchy slogan for the book
-->
create an AD campaign for your book redesign. One Instagram ad, One LinkedIn ad, One banner ad
Instagram Ad:
For my Instagram AD, I created a new illustration featuring my version of IT the Clown using the same color palette as the book.
I set the "release" date for October (before Halloween so the holiday did not overlap with the release). because IT is a horror novel.
I also carried over the same fonts from the book cover.

Banner Ad: Due to the length of this ad, I used the title for my main focus, and made another catchy slogan to gain the viewer's interest and make them want to click on it. I used the main book Illustration, but changed around the colors to improve legibility
These assignments required us to use different aspect of Photoshop, but did not have strict rules. We just had to create, in order from top left to bottom right:
a postcard of anywhere in the world
an icon for a popular figure we like
a grid style image shuffling the body parts of animals
a poster for a movie that we like
