Ali Alper Demir

I'm Alper. I received my PhD degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering titled: "Deep Learning Based Character Recognition Method For Ottoman Manuscript Documents (Osmanlıca El Yazması Belgeler İçin Derin Öğrenme Tabanlı Karakter Tanıma Yöntemi)" in 2024. I received my MSc from Süleyman Demirel University, Graduate School of Natural And Applied Sciences, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, on Superpixel-based textline segmentation(Süperpiksel tabanlı satır bölütleme).

Since 2016, I have been working at the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Süleyman Demirel University, where I started as a Research Assistant and, in 2026, began serving as an Assistant Professor.  I am also a researcher at Optima Research Group.

My research mainly focuses on the analysis of Ottoman documents, document image processing and artificial intelligence.
