I am Ali Athar, a dedicated Ph.D. candidate at Inje University, South Korea, specializing in Artificial Intelligence for healthcare applications. My research focuses on leveraging cutting-edge AI techniques, such as multi-modal transformers, self-supervised learning, vision transformers, and LLMs, to address complex challenges in medical imaging.
I hold an M.S. in Computer Software Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan, and a B.S. in Software Engineering from Government College University, Faisalabad. With a strong academic background and hands-on experience, my work bridges the gap between advanced AI research and real-world healthcare solutions.
Currently, I am involved in different AI-driven projects in collaboration with top companies across South Korea, which gives me access to diverse datasets, including textual data, medical images, and manufacturing datasets. My team focuses on developing robust models for radiology images, cancer diagnosis, and prognosis by incorporating foundation models, self-supervised learning, and weakly supervised learning to analyze large-scale, minimally labeled datasets effectively.
Beyond research, I actively contribute as a reviewer for high-impact journals and conferences under ACL, IEEE, and Elsevier.
