Coat Modifiers are similar to Coat mutations in that they change the overall base palette used for a particular coat, affect a marking, or up to 25% of the coat in a blended manner.
The following are the current known modifiers:
Fog (nFg) - Adds a bluish-gray muted color over the coat
Ghost (nGho) - desaturates and mutes the colors
Cream Ghost (CrGho)- lightens and mutes the coat, a combination with cream
Cream (nCr) - lighten and warms the coat, often making it various 'saturated creams'
Charred (nChar) - Darkens the coat, similar to sooty in equines but covers most if not all of the pelt.
Gray (nG) - Grays and desaturates the coat, a marking or 25% of the coat in a soft blend.
Pearl (nPrl)- Makes the coat shiny and glossy, allows shading and highlights on the import.
Chroma (nChr)- Saturates and colors a marking to be vibrant, often found in birds with bright plumage. Unknown inheritance.
Vibrance (nVb) - Saturates and colors the entire coat. Unknown inheritance.
Modifiers are inheritable like genes, and often are expressed in the phenotype with the primary coat color. For example a Chocolate with Fog coat modifier would be listed as Chocolate Fog.
