Hunting | Fishing

Hunting and Fishing of the primary means to earn gold, if you successfully complete either, you can then turn in the item for gold, of save it for crafting more valuable and useful items. Hunting and Fishing items can also be turned in for certain quests. Usually a successful hunt will gain the owner anything from pelts, leather, feathers, claws, teeth or even bones. And successful fishing often awards fish and other related items.

Rules:

-All drawings must be original works, no recolors will be accepted for hunting/fishing.

- Up to 3 Algolope can be featured, but must be fully visible.

- You cannot do both hunting and fishing in the same image, please title the artwork or literature appropriately.

-Riders are optional, including a rider or a group starter adds a bonus +5 to your score. Max +15 or 3 riders/starters.

-Algolope that are inbred with either Spinal Deformities, or Brittle Bones cannot hunt or fish due to health reasons.

-All other inbred Algolope can hunt or fish, though they will receive deductions in their score depending on the birth defect, infertile Algolope have no deductions to hunting or scavenging, as this defect does not affect physical abilities.

-Fishing and Hunting must clearly depict prey animals, though they can be natural animals or fantasy and made up creatures. As long as it can be considered prey, you're free to hunt or fish it. (The animal depicted has no effect on the items gained with the exception of seasonal hunts, where the specific creature must be depicted to get it's loot.)

-Images must be fullbody, colored and shaded, with a complex background (3 levels of ground, 3 elements, fully shaded.) (10 RP)

-Written works must be at least 1000 words. (10RP)

With higher ranks your algo can unlock new hunting grounds and fishing areas. These areas have differing loot tables than basic hunting and fishing. You can read about that in [Areas]

Success Chances

The success of hunting and fishing is based on a series of Random Generation or RNG, including rank bonuses, and any additional bonuses from skills, traits, or companions.

Initial Score:

1-20 RNG
+ Strength + Speed (Hunting)
or

+ Stamina + Strength (Fishing)

Rank Bonuses:

Novice +5/ Adept +10/ Expert +15/ Master +30/ Legend +60

Additional Bonuses:
+5-15 (1-3 riders or starters)
+ Companion or trait bonus

Having a higher ranked Algolope tends to offer better bonuses and chances. Additionally, training can boost your stats +1-3 points so it's beneficial to train your algos to do better in activities and to produce stronger offspring.

Strength stat has an additional bonus of applying the stat itself as a potential bonus to find more items in hunting, and Stamina for fishing. For example if your Algo has a STR: 6, then they have a 6% chance to find an additional item. You'll know your algo was successful or unsuccessful by the following comments:

Str Bonus: +6% chance extra prey [1-6/100 chance]

[Import] didn't find anymore prey. 89/100.
or

[Import] successfully found another prey with a strength bonus roll of 3/100!

[Import Name] found the following: 1x Item Name!

This is an additional bonus added to all hunting or fishing activities, it pulls from the primary stat of that activity. Strength for Hunting, and Stamina for Fishing.

Loot

To find at least 1 item, a 25 must be rolled.

To find at least 2 items, the minimum roll is 50.

To find 3 items, the minimum roll is 75.

To find 4 items the roll must be at least 100.

Rolls over 125 bring back 4 items and a bonus! See if you can discover it first!

Traits and Bonuses on your algo or companion may award an additional find or item.

In order for item, companion, skill or trait bonuses to be counted you must list this information in the description of the hunting or fishing Artwork/Story.

If you do not have any of the extra bonus modifiers you can remove those fields from the form. On redeem you only need to include a link to the import, the entry, and the Rank.

All rolls are per individual Algolope, so if you own more than one, be sure to list them in separate comments. Including forms for more than one roll or algo will be declined.

If other members' Algolope are featured, they must link and provide the information of their own animals in order to have the results rolled.

All hunting and fishing entries also count for Rp, and earn and extra +2 Rp. Please read Rank Points for more info on earning Rp.
