Volunteer role Profile: Community Volunteer
Hours: Flexible, based on availability
Commitment: 1-3 hours per week

Why we want you:
As a community volunteer, you could be involved in a range of activities that support our mission of rescuing and rehoming cats in the local community.
Your work will be on the ground in the local community, supporting people with their own cats and finding forever homes for the cats we are rehoming.
There are a range of activities you could be involved in as a community volunteer, detailed below.
Activities available as a community volunteer:
Community outreach - attending events to share the charity’s activities
Microchip scanner volunteer
Transport volunteer (must have access to your own vehicle)
Cat intake assessor
Home visitor
Trap, neuter, return volunteer
What you will be doing:
Attending local events and engaging with members of the community about the charity’s activities
Build relationships with local organisations to support our efforts
Attend local stray cats to identify their owners using a microchip scanner
Monitor local feral colonies, engage with feeders, and trap unneutered cats
Attend the homes of potential adopters to assess suitability for adoption
Transport cats to appointments from foster homes
The skills you need:
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to work with people in a non-judgemental and solution-focused way
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to follow instructions and act on own initiative within set boundaries
Good command of the English language both verbally and in writing
Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
Your own vehicle (for transport volunteer role)
