Why we want you:
As a cat care volunteer, you will be working closely with cats to make a difference to their lives and support our efforts to rescue and rehome cats in the local community.
Your work will be essential for socialising, caring for, and supporting cats as they prepare for adoption.
There are a range of activities you could be involved in as a cat care volunteer, detailed below.
Activities available as a community volunteer:
Cat fosterer - must have a spare room
Cat socialiser
What you will be doing:
Opening your home to a cat who is waiting to find their forever home
Daily care and monitoring of foster cats
Includes grooming, administering any required medications, and monitoring the general health and wellbeing of the cat.
Cat socialisation to help cats adjust to human interaction.
Facilitating meet and greets for potential adopters
Monitor local feral colonies, engage with feeders, and trap unneutered cats
Transport cats to appointments from foster homes
The skills you need:
A love of cats
Animal care experience - ideally with cats
Basic knowledge of animal health
Flexibility and reliability
Patience and compassion
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Able to follow instructions and act on own initiative within set boundaries
Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality
