Welcome to my website!

I am Alex Weng, an Economics Ph.D. candidate at UNC-Chapel Hill. My research interests are mainly in applied microeconomics, including health, labor, and education. My recent interest is in the economics of mental health, including the determinants of mental health and the effect of mental illness. 

I have experience working at Amazon, the International Monetary Fund, and the American Enterprise Institute. Outside of work, I am a sports enthusiast, watching and playing. In my undergraduate years, I played varsity badminton and won the state championship.

I am on the job market in the 2023/2024 academic year.
