Artist Statement

Evoking emotion in the viewers of my design is the main goal. My vision is to create works of art that are unique to my style and would be easily recognized as my own. It is important to me that viewers of my work will be intrigued in what they are seeing and would be prompted to see more. I usually look for feedback when my work is being viewed because I am always striving to better myself as an artist.

Over the years there has been a drastic change in my artwork, and it has been for the better. Continuously sketching in my sketchbook, spending hours on projects, and partaking in anatomical studies has gotten to a more progressive point in my art. Illustration has always been my passion, and a great passion for design has developed as well.

Graphic design feels like second nature to me. From analyzing typography everywhere I go, to observing logos and wandering how they were created. One person that has had a major influence on me was Alphonse Mucha. An art nouveau painter that created advertisements, illustrations and designs throughout his lifetime. He is very inspirational to me because I am intrigued in mixing my illustrations with design as well, to create my own unique style.

I believe great art is created through practice, dedication and true love and passion for it. Whichever medium it is, from sculpting all the way to digital design, art should be a passion that is savored and enjoyed. This is what I always have in mind when creating art, and what I hold with me as a designer and illustrator.
