Join us for the Summer School on dynamic resource allocation problems in communication, organized by the team of the RAMONaaS project at IMT Atlantique in Brest, France.
Summary: During these 3 days in-person summer school, we will study mathematical tools to solve realistic dynamic resource allocation problems in communication networks. Most of the resource allocation problems are known to be NP-hard to solve. However, it is possible to design efficient heuristics using the Markov decision processes theory. We will talk about heuristics, such as LP-based and Whittle index policies, and provide proof of their performances. To complete these first formal approaches, we will also take a different path to solving such problems using Deep Reinforcement Learning algorithms. All the techniques seen during this class will be applied to resource allocation in radio access networks and optical networks. This course will also have some lab sessions where different algorithms seen during the class will be implemented based on realistic scenarios, using state-of-the-art emulators.
General information: Registration is now open and will be limited to 30 researchers, in case there are to many applicants, we will privilege Ph.D. students and postdocs. There are no fees for the registration and lunches and social activities will covered, but not travel costs, accommodation or evening meals outside of the social activities.
