Localization Strategies for Global E-Business

Standardization versus adaptation (or localization) is at the very heart of international business research. It can be extended to analyze clear and effective communications over a global medium like the World Wide Web. Student will explores the depiction of cultural values on web pages using content analysis apprach to develop localization strategy that helps multinationals to utilize a multi-focus in their web communication strategies to include cultural (domestic and foreign) and marketing strategy elements.

Challenges and Factors Affecting the Implementation of E-Government in Sri Lanka

There are always a number of critical success factors and risks associated with e-Government. The student will examine and identify the factors that influence and affect the utilization of e-Government in the developing countries, specifically in Sri Lanka. This project will also investigates the challenges and barriers that must be overcome in order to successfully implement e-Government in Sri Lanka.

HTML4, HTML5, XHTML, CSS: current trends

The student will analyse the current distribution of the main W3C languages by spidering the Sri Lankan websites. Some of the answers the student should be able to answer by the end of the project include: what percentage of the web sites use HTML? What about XHTML? CSS? What’s the typical size of home pages? How much of it is CSS?
