I am an applied mathematician. My research is in mathematical biology:
I am modeling the role of several poorly understood proteins in blood coagulation using systems of ordinary differential equations and parameter fitting.
I am using data analysis and probability to understand what drives transitions between rapid-eye-movement (REM) sleep and non-rapid-eye-movement (non-REM) sleep.
I am using data-driven dynamical systems to understand the activity of the suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN), the brain region that acts as a "central clock" for the body's ~24 hr rhythmic processes (circadian rhythms).
