Alexander Clifton

Welcome to my website!

My name is Alexander Clifton and this semester, I am a visiting postdoc at the Center for Mathematical Modeling. In practice, I am also working at Universidad de Santiago de Chile, visiting Hiep Han.

Previously, I was a Research Fellow in the Discrete Mathematics Group at the Institute for Basic Science. Prior to that, I received my PhD in Mathematics from Emory University under the direction of  Hao Huang and bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Chemistry from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My preferred nickname is Yoa, not to be confused with Alex.

My research is predominantly in extremal combinatorics. More specific areas of interest include arithmetic Ramsey theory, generalizations of this result about covering the n-cube with affine hyperplanes, graph drawing, and graph reconstruction.
