I am Alex Woods, a proud graduate of Dublin High School, class of 2022. My enthusiasm for computers and engineering is not just a fleeting interest, but a deep-seated passion that has influenced both my academic pursuits and extracurricular activities. As I consider my future career path, I find myself gravitating towards the field of computer engineering, a decision fueled by my lifelong fascination with electronics and design.
Throughout my high school journey, I have actively engaged in both individual and collaborative engineering projects. My commitment to this field is evident in my involvement with the Dublin Robotics Club, where I have played a pivotal role in leading our team to the prestigious Vex Worlds Competition. As team captain for teams 21246A & 3303Z for two consecutive years, I have honed my leadership and technical skills, demonstrating my adaptability and proficiency in engineering.
In addition to robotics, I have also dedicated myself to the Boy Scouts, serving as Senior Patrol Leader for Troop 904. This role, which involved guiding a troop of over 36 members, has been instrumental in developing my leadership abilities and organizational skills.
My achievements extend beyond these roles. I have built over 76 desktop computers, providing technical support to friends and family, further solidifying my understanding of computer hardware and software. Academically, I have maintained a consistent 3.8 GPA, reflecting my commitment to academic excellence.
As I look towards the future, I am eager to expand my knowledge and expertise in engineering. My goal is to continue excelling in this field, drawing upon my experiences and the skills I have developed thus far.
