Alessandro Sasso

Welcome to my web page

I am a Quantitative Policy Analyst at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, working in the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (CC-ME). I am also an Honorary Research Associate at The University of Sheffield, School of Medicine and Population Health, where I was employed before.

I completed a PhD in Economics at The University of Sheffield in 2018. My PhD advisors were Dr. Gurleen Popli and Prof. Sarah Brown; my external examiner was Prof. John Session. My PhD thesis explored the determinants of gender differences in the Italian labour market.

For my publications, see my Google Scholar Citation and Research Gate web pages. Here is my CV, which I sometimes update.

Research Fields

I am interested in causal inference and micro-econometrics methods, applied across various areas including labour economics, health economics, public health, and more broadly, policy evaluation.
