I am a Quantitative Policy Analyst at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission, working in the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (CC-ME). My core responsibilities include evaluating the effectiveness of State aid interventions, monitoring developments in the EU telecommunications market, and assessing how Member States allocate State aid resources. My work directly supports evidence-based policymaking across the European Commission, particularly through the design and implementation of robust policy evaluations and methodological guidance.Â
I also serve as a co-author and contributor to several internal policy documents and methodological frameworks, including annual activity reports from CC-ME and transparency assessments related to State aid reporting. My work is often cited in internal Commission discussions and informs regulatory scrutiny processes.
Previously, I worked as an applied econometrician at the University of Sheffield, where I am currently an Honorary Research Associate in the School of Medicine and Population Health. I completed a PhD in Economics at the University of Sheffield in 2018, under the supervision of Dr. Gurleen Popli and Prof. Sarah Brown. My thesis explored gender disparities in the Italian labour market and was examined by Prof. John Session.
I am interested in applying micro-econometrics and causal inference methods to policy evaluation problems, with a particular focus on industrial policy, labour economics, health economics, and public health.
For a list of my academic publications, please see Google Scholar Citation and Research Gate web pages. Here is my CV, which I sometimes update.
