The Nitro Mesh Kit expands on the playability of the original Nitro kit by upgrading to mesh snare and tom pads for improved response and versatility. Mesh heads are the unanimous preference of electronic drummers for their natural feel and ultra-quiet response.

Although some companies make sticks specifically marketed toward mesh drum heads, it is not necessary to use a specific style of drumstick with mesh heads. If you would like to use a set of drumsticks other than those supplied with the kit, we recommend using a new set of sticks that have not been chipped, worn down, or otherwise damaged from playing an acoustic drum kit. The irregularities on a damaged drumstick can pull at the material on the mesh drum heads and cause it to deteriorate which over time may puncture the head.

I just got Alesis nitro mesh drums just because I like to play drums. That is where my 2nd COVID gov'ment money went. I am really having fun with them but they are too quiet when using headphones. Tried a new cable from stereo out to headphones, as well as a new dual 1/4" to 1/8" trs split. Still pretty quiet on full volume using either out.

Does anyone have experience using an Alesis nitro module with headphones? I am trying to determine if this module is not exactly right or if maybe I need different headphones. Can't really afford to keep throwing money at the setup to determine the issue via elimination.

I've got the nitro mesh kit - can't say I've had any issues with headphones. I'm using Sennheiser HD201's , which have a 24ohm impedance. Maybe your headphone impedance is too high for the nitro mesh module?

However, in saying that from your description, "Tried a new cable from stereo out to headphones", it does sound as if you're using the wrong output. The stereo output at the back is at line level which is definitely too quiet to drive headphones.

You should be using the headphone out, which is at the left of the module:

Obviously, this does not feel like a real drum kit, but the mesh gives sticks a certain bounce and feeling that, despite not feeling like a normal snare, still feels great to hit and allows for traditional rolls and other techniques. The cymbals are also great to hit but you are unable to perform cymbal chokes on them which can be a bit annoying.

The mesh head on the snare drum feels excellent to play, albeit a little bouncy. For my play style, I tried tuning the mesh head a bit looser than it came from the factory and got a more realistic feel.

Hey I just got up and mesured my Alesis Nitro mesh 8 pc drum kit as it sits in a playing pos. Now bear in mind your height and how far you would open up the drum frame work for your comfort when playing. I am 6 foot 2 in tall about 230 pounds so my kit is opened up all the way and I have added 4in in height to my framework . Kit was just a little too low for my comfort when on my throne. these are the Dim I just got off my kit as it sits. You would need 58 in in length 32in in width or depth and 50 in in height. my kit would fit as it sits for playing with all heads in playing pos in that amout of space. But could be folded to decrese that amount by about half if you removed heads and folded the frame work together. Like I said these dim are for my kit as it sits in playing pos. Hope that helps you out a little more in your quest for { the space required ? }

You can take the heads off and move the triggers to the middle. I had this problem with my kick tower and doing this was an easy simple fix. Be careful not to put your trigger to close to your mesh heads. So i would check this out it usually is what it needs is the triggers being moved its an easy fix just be careful doing it. I hope this helps you out some.

Just bought the Alesis Nitro mesh kit. Sounds great through my Audio-Technica headphones. I am currently using a very small guitar amp (because that is what I had) and the sound is nowhere near as good as through the headphones. I am looking to buy either a drum amp or a JBL EON 610 or 612. Which would have better sound quality, be more versatile (plug in mic, or keyboard , or guitar, or MP3 player)? What kind of cables would I need?

Aesthetically, there's not a whole lot of difference to the previous Nitro setup, but the addition of some brand new mesh snare and tom pads. We've got 8" pads in all-black, each with an extremely shallow profile and plastic rim, allowing you to adjust the tension of the mesh heads.
