Welcome to my site!
I am a professor of economics at the University of Rostock, a fellow at the Berlin Centre for Consumer Policies and a visiting researcher at DIW Berlin.
Previously, I was a policy advisor at the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, a senior researcher at DIW Berlin, a research associate at the Berlin School of Economics and a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute.
My current research interests are:
Assessing the (cost-)effectiveness and distributional impacts of policy instruments designed to mitigate environmental externalities.
Understanding direct and indirect impacts of local pollution on well-being and health outcomes.
Analyzing the potentials of financial markets as conduits of environmental policy ("green finance").
