# Privacy Policy — Alcobreath
_Last updated: 16 July 2026_
This policy explains what the Alcobreath app ("the app") collects, why, and your choices.
Alcobreath is a professional tool for organisations that operate breath-alcohol testers; it
is not intended for children.
**Who is responsible:** Alcobreath, contact **alcobreath.in@gmail.com**.
## What we collect
- **Account information** — your email address and display name, when you create an account or
are invited to one. Used to sign you in and to link you to your company.
- **Breath-test records** — readings downloaded from your breathalyzer devices (value, unit,
date/time, test mode) and the device serial number / Bluetooth address of the tester.
- **Employee/subject details you enter** — names, staff numbers and departments you add to
annotate a test.
- **Device licence identifiers** — the serial number (or Bluetooth address) of each tester,
used to verify that the device is licensed to your company.
We do **not** collect your phone's location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or usage
analytics. The app contains no advertising.
## Photos stay on your phone
Photos you take to accompany a test are stored **only on the device** and are **never uploaded**
to our servers or shared. They are removed when you clear local history or uninstall the app.
## How your data is used
- To provide sign-in and keep you connected to your company account.
- To verify each tester's licence (serial-number registration).
- To let your company **owner** view the test records produced across all of the company's
managers (test records and the employee/subject details are synced for this purpose).
We use the data only to operate the app. We do **not** sell it or share it with third parties
for their own purposes.
## Where it is stored
Account and test data are stored using **Google Firebase** (Authentication and Cloud
Firestore). Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google's
infrastructure. Access is restricted so a user can only reach their own company's data.
## Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can request correction or deletion of
your account and associated records by emailing **alcobreath.in@gmail.com**; we will action the
request within a reasonable period. Uninstalling the app removes all locally-stored data
(including photos) from the phone.
## Permissions the app uses
- **Bluetooth** — to connect to a breathalyzer over Bluetooth. The Bluetooth scan is declared
"never for location" and is used solely to find the tester.
- **USB** — to connect to a breathalyzer over a USB-C cable.
- **Internet / network state** — for sign-in, licence checks, and syncing records.
- **Camera** — photos are taken through your phone's camera app; the app does not access the
camera directly or in the background.
## Children
The app is for workplace/professional use and is not directed at children under 13.
## Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
