Alby Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 10, 2026
1. Overview
Alby is a local inventory and expiry-date tracking app. It does not require an account. The current version does not use developer servers, advertising, analytics, marketing, crash-reporting, or cloud-sync services.
2. Data handled on your device
Alby processes the information you choose to enter, including item names, categories, quantities, expiry dates, optional prices, notes, reminder-day settings, and app preferences such as currency and theme. This information is stored in app-private storage on your device so the app can display, organize, search, and manage your inventory.
Alby may read your device region to choose an initial currency suggestion. It does not store the complete device locale identifier.
3. Optional photos
You may optionally add one photo to an item. Alby uses the Android system Photo Picker only after you choose to add a photo. It does not request broad access to your photo library, camera, storage, location, contacts, microphone, or notifications.
The selected photo is copied to the app-private files directory. You can remove or replace the photo, and the in-app copy is deleted when you delete its item.
4. Collection and sharing
Alby does not collect your app content on developer-operated servers and does not sell, share, or use your data for advertising, cross-app tracking, marketing, profiling, or data-broker purposes. The app does not declare the Android internet permission.
5. No system backup or device transfer
Alby disables Android system backup and device-transfer for its app data. Your item records, preferences, and photos remain on the current device only and are not restored automatically after reinstalling Alby or moving to a new device.
6. Your choices and deletion
You can edit or delete individual items, photos, and custom categories in Alby. You can remove all local app data through Android Settings by clearing Alby's storage or uninstalling the app. Because Alby does not use developer servers or Android system backup for app data, clearing storage or uninstalling removes the local data from that device.
7. Security and children
Alby uses app-private storage and minimizes permissions. No storage method is completely secure; protect your device, device lock, and associated accounts. Alby is a general-purpose inventory app and is not directed to children.
8. Changes and contact
If Alby's data practices change, this policy and the Google Play Data safety declaration will be updated before the related release. For privacy questions, contact the developer using the support email shown on Alby's Google Play store listing.
