From the French meaning "to glue," collage describes the technique of composing an artwork by gluing a wide range of materials to a surface. Primarily used in the visual arts the concept of collage has crossed the boundaries and it has being used in literature, film, fashion design, architecture and music as well.
In this piece the main material comes from Belgian violinist, composer, and conductor Eugène Ysaÿe's most celebrated solo work, the "6 Sonatas for Solo Violin", reflecting the virtuosistic approach to the contemporary writing for the instrument.
