Alaa Abdelfattah

Hello, I am a Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at New York University Abu Dhabi. My research lies at the intersection of labor and urban economics where I study the heterogeneous effects of public policy and aggregate economic shocks on local labor markets.

I am particularly interested in spatial inequality and factors that contribute to wage and firm dispersion across space and over time. Recently, I have studied the effect of employer concentration and large firms' subsidies on workers' wages and employment options.

My work has been generously supported by the Institute for Humane Studies, the Russell Sage Foundation and the Washington Center for Equitable Growth. You can find my CV here and reach me at aaa10568@nyu.edu.
