Diversely-Owned Businesses: New Orleans, LA

ALA's Office for Diversity, Literacy and Outreach Services has compiled a selection of minority, women, and LGBTQ-owned businesses that attendees may wish to explore while in New Orleans for the 2018 ALA Annual Conference & Exhibition. We have focused primarily on places in close geographic proximity to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center (ENMCC), so this is not an exhaustive list of the city's diversely-owned businesses. Click on a pin to learn more about each place, including its distance from the ENMCC.

Several other resources that may be of interest include the New Orleans Metropolitan Convention & Visitors Bureau, Eat NOLA Noir, The New Orleans Black Book, and the N.O. Social Justice guide, which shares practical tips on how to be a socially conscious visitor in the Crescent City. Finally, learn more about the indigenous history and culture of New Orleans and Louisiana through our page.

If there is a business or organization you think we should add to our map, please e-mail your suggestion to diversity@ala.org. Thank you to ALA's student chapter at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee for their help in compiling this resource.
