Massage is perhaps one of the oldest healing traditions. Many ancient peoples – including the Ancient Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese and Indians – were convinced of the therapeutic properties of massage and used it to treat a variety of ailments.
Massage therapy (including myotherapy) is the practice of kneading or manipulating a person’s muscles and other soft-tissue in order to improve their wellbeing or health. It is a form of manual therapy that includes holding, moving, and applying pressure to the muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia.
The term ‘massage therapy’ is used to describe a wide variety of techniques that vary in the manner in which touch, pressure and the intensity of the treatment is applied.

Thai massage is a form of therapeutic touch that differs in many ways from traditional massage. Instead of a massage table, you lie on a mat on the floor while the provider manipulates your body in certain ways to stimulate organs and improve flexibility.
Thai massage is part of traditional Thai medicine. Similar to Chinese medicine, it works with the body's energetic pathways. These are also called sen.
In the Thai language, the name for Thai massage is Nuad bo-rarn. Nuad means "massage." Bo-rarn means "ancient." So in Thailand, it is an ancient massage. Some also translate it as "ancient healing way."
As its name suggests, a hot stone massage involves using heated stones. Al Dar Spa massage therapists use heated river stones or lava shells, as they are smooth and retain heat exceptionally well.
Before your massage, the therapist uses a special heater to heat the stones up to around 45-50°C. You don’t need to be worried that this is too hot, or could burn, as a professional therapist ensures the temperature is perfect and consistent. They won’t use a microwave or other means of heating the stones, as this would give uneven or inaccurate temperature.
There are various different hot stone massage techniques, and some will depend on the individual therapist. Generally though, the stones are placed on the body in specific spots, either guided anatomically or on energy points believed to help aid balance and flow. Beyond leaving the stones in place, the therapist will also use the stones to perform Swedish massage techniques, such as kneading, long smooth strokes, and rolling.
Removing all the waste that can linger on it helps your skin repair itself, and in turn leaves you with an improved complexion and a healthy “glow.” Another benefit of the Akasuri Scrub is improved circulation. By stimulating the skin through rigorous massage, the scrub helps boost blood flow.
Moroccan Bath is an age old traditional cleansing ritual of Moroccans which is spread across the Middleeast and popularly known as Hammam Maghrebi. This ritual is done to clean, whiten and soften the skin. It also helps to relax the tired nerves and muscles while enhancing the blood circulation of the body.
The Moroccan Bath is a cleansing and relaxation ritual that Moroccans habitually do each week at their local Hammam and is an absolute must before special occasions.
