Dr. Akhlaqur Rahman (AK) is the Academic Course Coordinator and Lecturer for the school of Industrial Automation at Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT), Melbourne, Australia. AK is also member of IEEE and Engineers Australia (MIEAust). Akhlaqur completed his PhD from Swinburne University of Technology in 2019. Before joining Swinburne, he was a Lecturer and Coordinator for the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Uttara University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, from 2013 to 2014. From 2018 to 2019, he was involved as Research Assistant at Deakin University. Overall AK has 8 years of teaching experience in Bangladesh, Australia and Online.
Akhlaqur (AK) is an experienced Electrical and Mechatronics researcher looking to apply my education background, managerial experience and hoping to make a difference in the world. He has over 20+ publication (3 Q1 Journals, 3 top flagship conferences) and is also reviewer for IEEE TII, and MDPI Robotics Journal. AK's research interests include cloud networked robotics, task offloading, Industry 4.0 Automation, energy efficiency, optimization, smart manufacturing and Internet of Things (IoT).
Besides that, AK is a Competent Communicator and effective leader, having received the "Swinburne Emerging Leadership Award" from Swinburne University. He communication aptitude is also backed up by his great IELTS score and being the winner at the "3 Minute Thesis Competition". Akhlaqur has also won the IEEE Travel Grant for IEEE Globecom and was the First Ever MATLAB Student Ambassador in Australia (29 in the world) as an employee of Mathworks, Inc.
Given his experience, AK is looking forward to challenging himself with opportunities in industry as well as academia.
Akhlaqur is currently looking authors to contribute to the journal Special Issue "Recent Trends in Innovation for Industry 4.0 Sensor Networks" where he is the Guest Editor (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/jsan/special_issues/industry_sensor_networks). The deadline is October 2020
