I am a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the American University of Beirut (AUB), Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA). I was born in Lebanon, and studied electrical engineering at AUB (Bachelor of Engineering in 1987) and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (Master of Science in Engineering in 1989 and PhD in 1993). I joined AUB as a faculty member in January 1993.

I co-founded SAUGO 360, an engineering consulting and professional services company, with presence in Beirut, Lebanon. I also co-founded HEALTECH, a startup with a mission to revolutionize healthcare by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence, with presence in the US and the GCC.
I co-founded, with five professors, Faculty United, an association of faculty members at the American University of Beirut and a chartered chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP).
I am senior member of IEEE, member of ACM, and member of the OEA.
