Welcome!
I am a Teaching Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I completed my PhD in Mathematics at Purdue University in August 2025, specializing in Algebraic Geometry. My dissertation developed a version of the equivariant Riemann–Roch theorem for equivariant line bundles on smooth projective surfaces over the complex numbers.
On this site, you’ll find information about my current teaching, lecture notes, upcoming seminars, and recent talks. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out at akafkas[at]utk[dot]edu.
