About AJL

AJL is committed to encouraging junior linguists to have opportunities to present their work at a formal academic conference. Junior linguists mainly include undergraduate students studying linguistics, but Master's and pre-ABD level submissions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Abstract submission

  • Abstract submission opens on May 1st, 2018 and closes on July 31st, 2018.
    • International participants who require a visa should submit their abstract as soon as possible.
    • Decisions will be made by August 10th, 2018.

    1. Subject: [AJL3] Abstract (LastName, FirstName)
    2. Minimum 250 words, but no more than 1 page including examples, graphs and references.
      • Title
      • Author's Name
      • Author's Affiliation
      • Abstract
    3. Indicate presentation type (oral or poster)
      • Oral presentation (Advisor approval is required: Form)
          • The advisor approval should arrive by August 3rd, 2018.
          • Any abstracts that are not approved by August 3rd will be considered as a poster presentation.
      • Poster presentation
