UPC codes of products you scan.
Basic usage data (e.g., timestamps of scans and device‑type information) stored in Firebase.
We do not collect your name, email, address, phone number, age, gender, or other demographic information.
We use your data to:
Provide the barcode‑scanning and analytics features of Aisle Ally.
Improve the App’s performance and user experience.
Maintain and secure our Firebase database.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
We may share anonymized, aggregated, or de‑identified usage data (with no UPC‑level personal identifiers) with service providers or analytics partners. Firebase acts as a data processor and complies with relevant security and privacy standards.
If applicable under your local laws (such as PIPEDA in Canada or GDPR in the EU), you may:
Request access to the data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Withdraw consent (if applicable) by uninstalling the App and contacting us via the email in Section 10.
We will respond to such requests within a reasonable timeframe (typically 30 days).
We protect your data using industry‑standard security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, and access controls to Firebase. We follow current best practices for securing mobile apps and cloud databases.
We retain UPC and usage data only for as long as necessary to provide the App’s services and comply with legal requirements. Firebase data is typically retained for up to 14 months where required by regulations, after which it may be deleted or anonymized.
Your data may be stored or processed in secure data centers outside Canada, but we take steps to ensure that such transfers comply with applicable privacy laws (e.g., PIPEDA and GDPR‑style safeguards).
Aisle Ally is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal information, they should contact us immediately for deletion.
