The star attraction is Leeds Bradford Airport (EGNM). Sitting at 681ft above sea level on a distinct plateau in Yeadon, it is the highest commercial airport in England. It is legendary in the simulation community for its exposure to the elements; crosswind landings here are violent, fun, and a true test of skill, often requiring severe "crabbing" angles right down to the tarmac.

Visual Highlights

• Emley Moor Mast: Located just south of the city, this concrete transmitting station is the tallest freestanding structure in the United Kingdom (taller than The Shard). It is the absolute "North Star" for VFR pilots navigating Yorkshire; if you can see the mast, you know where you are.

• Elland Road: The home of Leeds United is a massive, boxy stadium located right next to the M621 motorway. It acts as a perfect visual gate for entering the city airspace from the south.

• Bridgewater Place: Known locally as "The Dalek," this shaped skyscraper dominates the Leeds skyline. In the sim, it reflects the sunlight and marks the location of the train station and the River Aire.

• Bradford City Hall & Alhambra: Bradford offers a darker, stone-built aesthetic compared to the glass of Leeds. The distinct dome of the Alhambra Theatre and the clock tower of City Hall are easy to spot in the city bowl.

• The Valleys: The photogrammetry captures the way the terraced housing clings to the steep hillsides of the Aire and Wharfe valleys, creating a unique "layered" look to the ground texture.

Pilot’s Note: For a rollercoaster ride, fly the "Wharfe Valley Run." Depart EGNM and drop down immediately into the valley to the north (Otley/Ilkley).
