The result is a coastal city that actually feels alive, perfect for low-level VFR flights or RAAF military operations.

It’s a unique airport that serves a dual role: it’s a modern commercial hub for 737s and regional turboprops, but it’s also the home of the RAAF 34 Squadron, which handles Australian government VIP flights. If you like flying "Air Force One" or business jets, this is your best destination in the Southern Hemisphere.

Key Highlights: ✅ The VIP Precinct: Unlike the default scenery, this version includes the high-security military and government hangars. It’s perfectly modeled to handle everything from a RAAF Falcon 7X to a visiting Boeing 747.

✅ High-Tech Terminal: Features a fully replicated airside interior with custom jetways and a functional VDGS (Visual Docking Guidance System). If you use GSX, there is an excellent community profile that makes the ground handling feel 100% authentic to Australian operations.

✅ Capital Landmarks: The scenery includes over 50,000 hand-placed objects and custom 20cm orthoimagery. You get a perfect view of the Australian Defence Force Academy and the rolling hills of the ACT as you come in on the approach to runway 35.

Performance Note: For an airport with this much detail (over 150 custom assets), it is surprisingly light on its feet. Impulse has optimized the LODs (Level of Detail) very well, so you shouldn't see the "building popping" that sometimes plagues larger airport add-ons. It’s a smooth experience even in complex airliners like the PMDG 737 or the Fenix A320.
