Privacy Policy — AirMouse BT
Last updated: September 6, 2026
AirMouse BT ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Bluetooth input utility that turns your Android phone into a wireless mouse, touchpad, keyboard and remote control for your computer or TV. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and what choices you have.
1. What the app does with your data
The app's core function is fully local: mouse movements, clicks and keystrokes travel directly from your phone to your computer over Bluetooth. Nothing you type or click is sent to us or to any server.
The app does, however, include three Google services that collect limited technical data, described below.
2. Data collected by third-party services
a) Google Analytics for Firebase (usage analytics)
Collects anonymous usage events (for example: app opened, device connected, a feature used), approximate location derived from IP address, device model, operating system version, app version and a randomly generated app instance identifier. We use this to understand which features are used and how the app performs. It is not linked to your name or email.
b) Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting)
If the app crashes or stops responding, a report containing the technical stack trace, device model, operating system version, app version, free memory and a crash identifier is sent to Google so that we can fix the problem. Reports do not include the content you typed or the devices you connected to.
c) Google AdMob (advertising)
The app shows a full-screen advertisement occasionally when a session ends. To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects your device's IP address (which may be used to estimate general location), ad interactions (views, clicks, video views), diagnostic information (app launch time, performance) and device identifiers, including the Android advertising ID and app set ID. Google uses this data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, and may combine it with data from other apps and services in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy). Information on how Google uses data from apps that use its services is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
All data sent by these services is encrypted in transit.
3. Your choices
• Advertising ID: You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads). Deleting it prevents ad personalisation.
• Personalised ads: In the same Android settings you can opt out of ad personalisation.
• EU/EEA, UK and Swiss users: When you first open the app you are asked for consent before any advertising data is processed. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the app's Settings → "Ad privacy settings".
• Deletion request: To request deletion of data associated with your device, email us at the address below with your advertising ID or app instance identifier and we will process the request with the relevant Google service.
4. Permissions the app uses
• Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT, BLUETOOTH_SCAN) — to discover, pair with and act as an input device for your computer or TV.
• Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) — requested only on Android 11 and older, because those Android versions require the location permission for Bluetooth device scanning. The app itself does not read or store your location. Third-party services described above may access approximate location while this permission is granted.
• Foreground service and notifications — to keep the Bluetooth connection alive while the app is in use and to show the connection status.
• Internet and network state — used only by the third-party services listed in section 2. The app's own functionality works without an internet connection.
• Vibration — haptic feedback on button presses.
5. Data stored on your device
Your preferences (sensitivity, theme, language, keyboard layout, last connected device, ad consent choice) are stored locally on your phone and are removed when you uninstall the app.
6. Children's privacy
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads shown to users identified by Google as under the applicable age are not personalised.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes are published on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
