Your reminders, personal details, and settings stay on your device. Six optional features send limited data to external services — each is disclosed below and in the app's consent screen.
What stays on your device only:
- Your reminders, tasks, and grocery lists
- Your name, city, email, and phone number
- Your preferences and settings
Six optional features — voice input, receipt scanning, doctor clinic lookup, store organization, birthday and anniversary scanning, and medicine label scanning — send limited data to external APIs. Each is
disclosed in Section 3 below.
Does the app send any data to Anthropic and Google for doctor visits?
Yes — for the Doctor Visit address lookup. When you say something like "Dentist appointment with Dr. Smith in Boston Friday 2pm," the app first sends the doctor name and city to Anthropic Claude (Sonnet) to
identify the medical practice. The institution name is then sent to Google's Places API to fill in the address and phone number on your reminder.
- What is sent to Anthropic: Doctor name + city you spoke
- What is sent to Google: The institution name returned by Anthropic
- What is NOT sent: Your name, health information, or any other reminder content
- When it happens: Only when you create a doctor or clinic reminder by voice
- Your consent: You see a clear disclosure notice before this ever happens
- Opt out: Tap the banner on the confirm screen to skip the lookup — enter address manually instead
The app also uses Groq (Whisper) for voice transcription, and Anthropic (Claude) for grocery receipt scanning, store organization, birthday and anniversary scanning, and medicine label scanning. All are
disclosed in the same consent screen and in this privacy policy. No other data leaves your device.
📷 Optional: Receipt Scanning
If you choose to use the Scan Receipt feature in Manage Stores, a photo of your grocery receipt is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API (Haiku model) solely to extract grocery item names and prices.
The receipt contains only store-printed item names, prices, and minimal transaction metadata. No full payment details, account passwords, or app login data are present.
- Anthropic does not use API data to train its AI models (per Anthropic Commercial Terms of Service)
- Anthropic automatically deletes the data within 30 days
- The receipt image is never stored by AI Reminder Pro
- This feature is entirely optional — all other features work without it

🎤 Voice Input (Groq Whisper API)
When you use the microphone to speak a reminder, your voice recording is sent to Groq's Whisper API to convert speech to text. Audio is processed immediately and not stored after transcription. Groq does not use your audio for model training. This feature is entirely optional — you can type reminders manually.

🏥 Doctor Visit Address Lookup (Anthropic Claude + Google Places)
When you create a Doctor Visit reminder by voice, the doctor's name and city you spoke are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API (Sonnet model) to identify the medical practice. The institution name is then sent to Google Places API to retrieve the address and phone number.
- Only the doctor's name, city, and resolved institution name are involved — no other personal information
- Anthropic does not use API data to train its AI models and deletes the data within 30 days
- The Google query is not retained after lookup
- This feature is entirely optional — tap Skip to enter address manually

🗂️ Optional: Store Organization
For store categorization, your store names (for example, "Walmart" or "Classic Cleaners") are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API (Sonnet model) to assign a category — Grocery, Electronics, Services, or Misc.
- Only the store name is sent. No reminder content, personal information, or payment data is included
- Anthropic does not use API data to train its AI models (per Anthropic Commercial Terms of Service)
- Anthropic automatically deletes the data within 30 days
- Categorization runs once per store, per device. You can change any category at any time by long-pressing the store name in My Stores.
- This feature is entirely optional — all other features work without it

🎂 Birthday & Anniversary Scanning (Anthropic Claude Haiku Vision)
When you scan a birthday or anniversary list — such as a WhatsApp screenshot, Notes page, or handwritten list — the photo is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API (Haiku Vision model) to extract names and dates only.
- Only names and dates are extracted. No other personal information is sent or stored
- Anthropic does not use API data to train its AI models (per Anthropic Commercial Terms of Service)
- Anthropic automatically deletes the data within 30 days
- The photo is never stored by AI Reminder Pro after scanning
- This feature is entirely optional — you can enter birthdays and anniversaries manually

Section 5 — Your Consent
When you first open AI Reminder Pro, you will see a Privacy & Data screen summarizing this information. You must tap "I Agree — Continue" before using the app. This consent is stored on your device and you will not be asked again.
When you first tap the Scan Receipt button, a separate one-time consent dialog appears explaining the Anthropic upload. You must tap "I Agree" before any photo is taken or selected. This consent is also stored on your device — subsequent scans proceed without prompting.
The app's first-launch consent screen covers all four optional features: voice transcription (Groq), receipt scanning (Anthropic Haiku), doctor practice identification + address lookup (Anthropic Sonnet + Google Places), and store organization (Anthropic Sonnet).
