This privacy policy applies to the Aire app (the "Application") for mobile devices, created by Felix Andersson (the "Service Provider") as a free service.
The Application does not collect, transmit, or share any personally identifiable information.
The Application does not collect:
Your name, email address, or any identifying information
Your device's IP address or location
Usage analytics, page visits, or time spent in the app
Any data that is sent to the Service Provider or any third party
The Application does store certain health and wellness data locally on your device (see Section 2 below). All such data is stored using local storage (AsyncStorage), is never transmitted to any server operated by the Service Provider, and is deleted when you uninstall the Application or clear its data. Note that your device's operating system may include this data in automatic backups (e.g., Google Backup or iCloud) according to your device settings.
The Application stores certain wellness-related data exclusively on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage). This data is never transmitted, shared, or sold to the Service Provider or any third party.
The data stored locally includes:
Breathing session history: The date, duration (in minutes), number of breathing cycles, and pace (classic or light) of each completed session.
Personal notes: You may write short personal notes (in the "Vault" feature) related to your practice. The content of these notes is entirely user-generated.
Streak and progress data: Your daily practice streak and total accumulated practice time.
How this data is used: All of the above data is used solely to display your personal statistics, track your progress, and provide a personalized experience within the Application. It never leaves your device — it is not sent to any server, cloud service, or third party. The data is deleted when you uninstall the Application or clear its data. Your device's operating system may include this data in automatic device backups (e.g., Google Backup or iCloud) according to your device settings.
What the Application does NOT collect: The Application does not connect to Google Fit, Apple Health, or any other health or fitness platform. It does not read or write any biometric data (heart rate, blood pressure, etc.), medical records, or other health-related information from your device or any external service.
The Application may send local notifications to remind you of your breathing practice. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to any server. You can disable notifications at any time from the app settings or your device settings.
The Application requests the following device permissions:
Internet: Used to open external links (e.g., research papers) in your device's browser. No data is sent to or received from any server controlled by the Service Provider. External websites you visit have their own privacy policies.
Notifications: Used to schedule local daily breathing reminders on your device. No push notification servers are involved.
Vibration: Used to provide haptic feedback during breathing exercises (e.g., gentle taps to mark inhale, hold, and exhale phases). Can be disabled in the app settings.
Audio settings: Used to play ambient sounds (ocean, rain) and relaxing music during breathing sessions, including when the screen is locked.
No permission is used to collect, transmit, or share any personal data.
The Application does not use third-party analytics, advertising networks, crash reporting tools, or any other service that would receive data about you or your usage.
Because the Application does not collect any personal information, the Service Provider does not knowingly solicit or collect data from children under the age of 13.
Since no personal data is collected or transmitted, there is no data at risk of breach or unauthorized access beyond your own device.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
