PURPOSE OF the WORKSHOP

Utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) is going to spread to various media and used by general consumers besides home environment such as smart home. At the same time, the administration and the judiciary are also (starting to) try to use AI.

This phenomenon includes problems of relationship between utilization of AI and the use of personal information, the (possibility of) administrative restrictions on AI research and development, and even the possibility of using AI to solve conflicts that arise in it. There also are problems of general AI Utilization. The purpose of this WP is to deepen interdisciplinary discussions on how the experts on various fields think about these issues.

To fulfill the goal of this purpose, the leading scholars on Machine learning, public law, consumer law, jurisprudence, intellectual property law discuss about the matter. Topics include the issue of whether AI can resolve legal disputes, in addition to deregulation or regulation issues for consumers' use of AI and utilization of personal information. We plan to identify issues thoroughly, deepening the issues freely while incorporating aspects such as technology, philosophy and law.
