AI Ping Privacy Policy

AI Ping is a browser extension that notifies users when supported AI services finish producing a response. This policy explains what information AI Ping accesses, how it is used, and where it is stored.
1. Information AI Ping accesses
AI Ping accesses supported AI pages on ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini in order to detect when a response starts and finishes. This may involve locally reading page structure and content such as text, generated images, code, files, media, response controls, page titles, and other response elements.
AI Ping also observes limited browser interactions needed for its core function, such as when a prompt is submitted, whether a supported tab is active, and whether a completed response is waiting to be viewed.
2. Information stored locally
AI Ping may store the following information in Chrome's local or session storage:
- Extension settings and preferences
- Enabled AI services
- Notification and sound settings
- Volume, quiet hours, and reminder settings
- Custom notification sound data selected by the user
- Per-tab mute and finished-tab state
- Limited completion history, such as service name, page or conversation title, and completion time
- Local detector and notification diagnostic information
3. How information is used
Information accessed by AI Ping is used only to provide the extension's core functionality, including:
- Detecting when an AI response has finished
- Playing completion sounds
- Showing optional desktop notifications
- Highlighting finished AI tabs
- Showing waiting-response counts and completion history
- Providing optional reminders
- Maintaining user preferences and troubleshooting diagnostics
4. No external transmission of conversation content
AI Ping processes supported AI page content locally in the user's browser. Conversation content is not sent to the AI Ping developer or to any third-party server by the extension.
5. No analytics, advertising, or sale of data
AI Ping does not use analytics or advertising trackers. AI Ping does not sell user data, share user data for advertising, or transfer user data to third parties for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
6. Remote code
AI Ping does not download or execute remote JavaScript or WebAssembly. Executable extension code is included within the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
7. Third-party services
AI Ping works with pages provided by OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google. AI Ping is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. Those services have their own privacy policies and terms.
8. Data retention and deletion
AI Ping does not maintain a remote user database. Locally stored extension data remains in the user's browser until it is replaced, cleared by the extension or browser, or the extension is removed. Users can remove AI Ping's locally stored data by uninstalling the extension or clearing the extension's site/storage data through Chrome.
9. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if AI Ping's functionality or data practices change. The latest version will be published at this page.
