Prior to the Millennium War, all life-giving energy provided by Aion shone forth from the Tower of Eternity located in the center of the planet. Daevas had been entrusted with the responsibility of protecting the tower from the Balaur. As such, an Aetheric Field was created around the bases of the Tower, giving shelter to those humans in need and acting as the capital of Atreia.

Following the destruction of the tower, the ancient Atreians were separated, creating the Elyos and Asmodian races, each occupying a different hemi-shell of Atreia. Sunlight reaches downward inside Atreia, illuminating the lower half in particular, where the kingdom of Elysea is located. Meanwhile, little light penetrated to the upper half, where Asmodae was defined.

At the time of Echoes of Eternity (Aion 5.0), the aetheric field that had been preserving the tower and its surroundings for over a thousand years had weakened to the point where chunks of it had begun to fall off, and access to (a part of) it was possible for the first time since the Cataclysm.

The story behind the current state of the world of Aion is fascinating. Having created Atreia as a hollow world with its landscape on the inner crust of the planet, the god Aion illuminated the world from within as the Tower of Eternity. Within this closed garden Aion created its first race, the Balaur, to watch over and protect Atreia. Soon Aion begat humans and other sentient creatures, and the Balaur began to prey upon them. Once guardians, the dragon-like Balaur became obsessed with conquest and subjugation. Realizing that the god, the Tower of Eternity itself, would not empower the Balaur any further, they sought to destroy him. In response to this threat Aion created the twelve Empyrean Lords. These immortals were gifted with flight and the ability to manipulate aether to fight the Balaur and protect the tower. In time, the strongest of the humans would ascend to a similar level of divine power; these people were called Daevas. Together with the Empyrean Lords, the Daevas fought back against the Balaur in a struggle that would become known as The Millennium War.

Eventually the war would come to an end, but at a tragic price. In an attempt to make peace with the Balaur, the Tower was compromised and shattered: threatening to take Atreia with it. In a moment of tremendous sacrifice, the Lords Siel and Israphel gave up their life energy to save as much of the tower and Atreia as possible. It was not enough to save everything, but the world survived. Atreia was now torn in two, save for the bases of the tower on each hemisphere; the place where the Tower of Eternity once stood has become an abyss.

This UI is of course inspired by a very cool game called Aion: The tower of Eternity! I loved the interface that they used in the game. Everytime i watch videos of the game I think to my self man that would work so well in world of wacraft. So thats what brings me here today with this UI. This is my Ode to Aion.

Installation:

Step one: Rename your WTF and Interface folders to WTFold and Interfaceold

Step two: Unzip the Crystal UI to either your desktop(or where ever you want to unzip the files)

Step three: Put the interface folder, WTF folder and Font folder in your world of warcraft directory (should be C:/Programs/Worldofwarcraft)

Step Four: inside the WTF folder you will see an account folder. Enter that folder and inside there you will see a folder that says ACCOUNT NAME. Rename this folder to your log in/account name. Make sure you put your account name in all caps!

Step five: Inside the ACCOUNT NAME folder you will see a server name folder. Rename this folder with your servers name.

Step six: Inside the Server Name folder there is a Character Name folder. Rename this folder with the character you wish to use this ui with.

Step seven: Log in.


When logging in for the first time: Type

Please report any errors or issues as soon as you get them so i can correct them. Currently with the changes to 3D images I cannot use them for party, target, target of target etc because it keeps showing a full body picture. It works fine for player so i kept that 3d 2351a5e196
