Dress/Tech Rehearsals:
Each recital show has its own designated dress/tech rehearsal held at the Virginia Theatre, and it is essential that all dancers are present. Dancers will wear their full costumes for these rehearsals, which serve as a crucial “practice run” not only for the performers, but also for the AIM staff and the Virginia Theatre tech crew. During these rehearsals, the lights, sound, and all technical elements of the show will be built, tested, and fine-tuned to ensure everything runs smoothly for the actual performances. The Thursday recital show will have its dress/tech rehearsal on Monday, June 8 at 5:00 PM. The Friday show’s rehearsal will be on Tuesday, June 9 at 5:00 PM. The Saturday 11:00 AM show will rehearse on Wednesday, June 10 at 5:00 PM, and the Saturday 6:00 PM show will rehearse the classes that are ONLY performing in this show at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 10. Please note that these rehearsal times differ from the actual performance times. The recital showcase begins at 6:00 PM on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings (June 11–13), and at 11:00 AM on Saturday morning, June 13.
All dancers are required to be present at the rehearsal.
Rehearsals are in full costume, hair, makeup, accessories.

Allows our tech team to adjust lights, sound, and staging
Helps ensure a smooth, polished performance for everyone
Full Costume & Makeup Required:
All dancers must arrive in full costume, makeup, and hair—just like performance night. This is vital for lighting accuracy and stage adjustments!
Staggered Arrival Times:
To keep things running smoothly, dancers will NOT all arrive at the same time for rehearsals. Arrival is based on the order of their dance number.
Rehearsals tend to take longer than performances—thank you in advance for your patience!
General Arrival Guide (approx. 15 dances per hour):
#1–15 → Arrive 30 min before start time
#16–20 → Arrive 40 min after start time
#21-25→ Arrive 50 min after start time
#26–30 → Arrive 60 min after start time
#31–40 → Arrive 90 min after start time
#41 & up → Arrive 2 hours after start time
Parent Guidelines:
Dancers age 12 & under must have a parent/guardian stay with them
Dancers age 13 & up may be dropped off & picked up
Of course, any dancer is welcome to stay and watch the entire rehearsal from the main seating area—this is their special time to see the show come together! We just ask that they have a parent with them at all times.
During dress rehearsal, all parents are responsible for their dancer’s costume changes, just as they will be on performance day. Dressing room assignments and location details will be sent in May.
