Welcome to the
Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (AIM) Lab
Accelerating translational research
Dr. Hisham Daoud
Director of AIM lab and Assistant Professor in the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences at Augusta University
Dr. Daoud received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Center for Advanced Computer Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His research focuses on developing AI algorithms to advance healthcare technology. Dr. Daoud's research interests include biomedical signal processing, medical imaging, machine learning, deep learning, and neuromorphic computing. Dr. Daoud developed machine learning /deep learning algorithms to help diagnose and predict neurological and neuromuscular disorders. He has held multiple positions in both industry and academia.
AIM Lab Overview
Our research interest lies at the intersection of computer science, particularly artificial intelligence, and biomedical engineering. Our main goal is to design, develop, test, and implement AI-powered algorithms and hardware tools for the detection, diagnosis, and management of critical diseases in order to improve healthcare quality, reduce medical costs, and save lives. Through multidisciplinary collaborations, we can translate our solutions into clinic practice.
